Wow – were we ever lucky to find Neil Wilson. As you can see from the pictures of our kitchen (see the Celeste kitchen in the Portfolio) – he does incredible design work. What you can’t see is the behind-the-scene ordering logistics that he masterfully handles. AND, the design and ordering for this was done in one day – actually in ~ 8 hours! Amazing – not only did we get a truly stunning and inviting kitchen but we somehow managed to avoid all of the drama and long timeline that so many others report when re-doing their kitchen. Can’t thank Neil enough. Our home is on the market now and I know who we’ll be calling as soon as we buy our next one.

Neil was worth well more than what he charged! My husband is pretty creative and I am very obsessive when it comes to all things pertaining to my kitchen since it is where I live, breathe, cook and eat. I am a cook and quite recently my kitchen was permitted under Class B in the Cottage Industry (California) and Neil’s layout of my kitchen impressed my inspector! I recommend him to anyone trying to remodel with Ikea cabinets without hesitation! Totally accessible designer, friendly and worth much more than he charges!

We love to have friends come over, and it is truly the most perfect space for entertaining. When we have pot lucks, or just long assembly lines for a Chipotle-style do it yourself burritos, it is ideal. I love to look over and see fifteen people in casual conversation around the island. And any home that is 1037 sqft and can host 80+ people (using the outside, yes, but still!) is pretty sweet, I think! People LOVE this kitchen, and I use every cupboard and space. I could maximize efficiency a bit more, but for now, I am just reveling in having so much space. – Thank you so much!

Outside of just a few additional issues with understanding Ikea’s pict-o-instructions (which really were quite clear once I began to think in Swedish) the cabinets went together smoothly and I couldn’t be happier with the design. Neil, you certainly fill a need, not least in providing aid and comfort, but also translation. A person needs to know exactly how everything works together, and understand the IKEA vocabulary, to have a chance at a successful design/install. When the flat packs show up, the assembly code is easily cracked. I’m sure you too have encountered design professionals who use their hands and arms to describe a space or a layout without ever actually measuring it — and I’m realizing that leads to tears and/or cursing when the installers show up. You are not that kind of designer. I must say I’m pleased how your design is fitting into the actual physical space.

You said last Sunday that you wished you could see my face when I saw the new design. I sort of wish that, too, as a look of utter disbelief mixed with joy is not an everyday expression. I went into this feeling like, “At least I’ll have a parts list, which is really what I want, even if nothing else much changes.” And I went from nine cabinets (ten once we eliminated the wood burning stove) to 23, one of which is a pantry. And a more functional flow into the rest of the house. And a much more cohesive look. Amazing. I went to bed on Monday practically giddy.

We moved in to the house last weekend, and are now surrounded by the chaos of boxes. But the kitchen is absolutely amazing! It turned out even better than we could’ve hoped. It’s perfect. We love how it looks with the 3 cabinets centered under the window. You did an incredible job, and I can’t tell you how much we appreciate it! Now I just have to figure out where everything goes. Kitchen organization is it’s own conundrum, even after the design is done!
